Each year, the geek kingdom grows. I hope that doesn’t offend you, as I mean it with the utmost respect. This year’s Wizard World Chicago Comic Con at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont is right around the corner (August 24-27, to be exact). Each year I say the same thing: this year’s show is going to be AWESOME!
But guess what? This year’s show is actually going to be a step above awesome. If you don’t believe me, check out our previous coverage of past shows. With that said, 2017 is a banner year for all things comic, celeb, cosplay, and pop culture.
Aside from the slew of WWE Superstars, including the Hardy Boyz themselves, this year’s show boasts guests that are pop culture icons. Both Elizabeth Olson (Scarlet Witch from the Avengers films) and Paul Bettany (Vision in the same movies) are joined by fellow Marvel stars Michael Rooker and Cobie Smulders (Scherbatsky!), as well as some of the cast of the smash Netflix hit Stranger Things (Gaten Matarzzo and Caleb McLaughlin).
You can count on convention regulars like Dean Cain, Lou Ferrigno, and Kevin Sorbo. Chicago hometown hero John Cusak will be in appearance, as will be the legendary Gene Simmons.
Now that all the boring people are out of the way, we can focus on the real reason I am excited about this year’s Wizard World. Three letters: T-I-N. I am of course talking about the Kid in King Arthur’s Court himself…the Rookie of the Year. Henry Rowengartner! I mean, Thomas Ian Nicholas. Did you know that he rocks out in his own band: the Thomas Nicholas Band? He will be touring the Chicago area in August. If you can’t see him at Wizard World, be sure to stop by one of his shows.
SUGRdaily looks forward to being on the show floor at Wizard World in Chicago. Be sure to check out our updates from the show. Click here for a full list of guests and information about Wizard World Chicago.
